Mountain Hiker

Welcome

Riding Expedition Everest

We got a sneak peak at the Yeti

One of the first things that we noticed when we first rode this ride was that we knew it wouldn’t be too intense because there was only a lap bar restraint and you’re not harnessed into the seat. They have figured out a way to trick your mind into believing you are going upside down, but it is all done with lighting inside the mountain and the car going backwards for part of the ride. This ride was so much smoother that older roller coasters because the track is large pipes and not the older metal tracks used in the past. We talked to people as they were building it, and they mentioned that it would be a smoother ride because of the new construction techniques being used. The double spiral turns at the end will make some people experience dizziness as they exit the ride.

Building Everest

It was so exciting to visit Disney World Animal Kingdom often to watch as the Expeditiion Everest ride was being built. This was a remarkable new type of roller coaster that had a complete structure of a mountain built around it rather than just being built on poles for support.

We still ride Everest. Check out the Toy Story ride at Disney Hollywood Studios. The sneak peak is also to test the ride to make sure the staff know how to get people on and off the ride. Toy Story did not have a pin.
