Welcome
Now you see it, now you don’t
Disney World is always changing and
progressing.
People who have visited Disney World for years
often talk about things that used to be there. You’ll
often hear people talk about the sky buckets, the
20,00 Leagues under the Sea ride and Mr. Toad’s
Wild Ride at Magic Kingdom. At Epcot there was
the Kitchen Cabaret show and the Nestle chocolate
chip cookie baking at the Land, the old ride
through the Norway countryside, Body Wars ride,
the energy pavilion. The lake at Epcot had a noon
show on the lake that featured a kite show and
ultralight aircraft floating into the area. The lagoon
between the ticket and transportation center and
Magic Kingdom sometimes had characters water
skiing, or you might see a Mickey hot air balloon by
the Contemporary.
But never fear, there are always new shows and
excitement coming in to replace the old.
Look Fast
Many things are gone forever. The big hat
that was a great picture spot in Hollywood
Studios is now gone. The first balloon at
Downtown Disney was Mary Poppins and
had been gone for years. Downtown Disney
is now called Disney Springs. So look fast
and take a photo for a life time of memories.
Other things you might miss at Walt Disney World
There are so many different things to
do and see outside of the theme parks.
You can go to Downtown Disney
where there are numerous shops,
restaurants, free concerts, boat rentals
where you can rent a small or a large
boat and buzz around the lake. We
like to go "resort hopping" which is
taking the Disney transportation by
bus or monorail and stop at different
resort hotels to check out the decor
and the shops and restaurants. They
change from season to season. There
is miniature golf in two different
courses, and don't forget the water
parks!

Then take the boat to Fort Wilderness.
Then take the bus to Downtown

Just a little funny. The lifeguard is
wearing a raincoat.
Dumbo at left is in the
Smithsonian in Washington,
D.C. We were reading the
information about Dumbo. The
first Dumbo at Disneyland in
California in 1955 had ears that
went up and down. I started
going to Disney in 1957. Rode
Dumbo but didn't look or care
about the ears at that time. Did
you?
This is one of Disney's two actual fire
stations.

How many monorails are at Disney
World?
What are the colors?
12 in all
Red, Black, Yellow, Lime green, Light blue,
Purple, Salmon, Gold, Silver, Pink, Orange,
and Green.
You can no longer sit up front after the
accident of 2010.
Year of a Million Dreams
You just had to be in the right place at the right time to
get a gift. One family a day was picked to stay in the
Castle. Not us.
Christmas Time
Every year the gingerbread house
is built. You can see it most of the
time on the travel channel. Go to
the Grand Floridian resort by
monorail. To see the house is free.
Sometimes they have smoke
coming out the top of the
chimney. Look at the detail of the
house. At times they have a chef
decorating small gingerbread
houses at the back of the house.
She also has little cookies and
figurines on display.
Yacht Club has a carousel every year made of chocolate and gingerbread. Boardwalk also
has chocolate displays.
The Contemporary often features
chocolate Pinocchio.
Check out different decorations at all of the
resorts.
