Plymouth, Massachusetts. We were here in 1985 and
again in 2010. I have good video from 1985 with
people eating outside with a guest from England. The
people stay in character at all times while talking with
guests. They speak in Old English and only talk about
the events of that day, on that particular calendar date
in history. They will give information about their trip
to the New World and the challenges of being there.
The best time to go is around Thanksgiving. They
have a lot going on with kids playing, dinners, and
workers all around.
They actually have gardens and cattle, and sawmills and a working brick kiln where the characters work every day. They live like they would have in the actual
colony. There is a native village on the edge of the compound where they still string beads and make garments and replicas of their dwellings.
