Colonial Williamsburg is a wonderful place to visit. The entire town is full of history. You can learn so much about the beginnings of our country, events that led up to the revolutionary war, and things that happened with the founding fathers and the "new" constitution. It takes at least two full days to explore everything, and longer if you want to get deeper into the history and lifestyles. There are re-enactments during the day to depict some of the most important activities in the colony.

Got this shot at breakfast one morning. What not to do.

The shipyards are at nearby Yorktown. You can explore the decks of the tall ships and learn the historical significance of the ship trade to the area. They were instrumental in bringing both supplies and people to the new colonies. There are tour guides who give commentary and answer questions at each place.
