In 2003 we took a long trip along the Oregon coast, and stayed in a fishing town with fabulous flower gardens. We couldn’t resist taking pictures of the beautiful flowers while we were enjoying the scenery around us.
The quaint little motel
where we stayed on the
beach had the most
amazing flower bed filled
with roses and dahlias!
Each plant was beautiful on
its own, but all together
they offered a color treat
for the eyes.
These little flowers are called anemones. They come in a variety of bright colors and usually bloom in the spring.
Speaking of blooming in the spring, these beautiful black tulips are one of the centerpieces of her springtime garden.
She has a variety of beautiful roses in her gardens. This is just one of many.
This beautiful flower is called a peony. They seem to grow mainly in the northwestern United States. They come in a range of colors from white to very light pink, to a purplish pink like this to a very deep burgundy color.
Washington state flowers
Joanie’s sister lives in Washington state where there is a lot of rain. She loves gardening and always has beautiful flowers in her garden. She has a real green thumb and has done gardening for a lot of her neighbors besides maintaining her own array of flowers.
