Allure of the Seas
This is the largest ship we have been on. There were Broadway shows in the front,
ice skating shows in the middle and diving shows in the back. Each show was perfect
and added to our fascination with the cruise.
Our room included a large balcony
with two chaise lounges. The room
was facing the inside of the ship,
which was called Central Park. It
housed several specialty restaurants
and walking paths amongst natural
trees and plants. During the day it
was pretty and at night it was all lit
up to make it even prettier.
Ray went zip lining on the private
island in Haiti. At that time it was one
of the longest zip lines for cruises, and
dropped from the top of a small
mountain, over the ocean and back onto
the beach below.
We also did the roller coaster (see video
to the right) that holds two people in a
small vehicle and races down through
the foliage. It is not powered, but is a
“free fall” from the top to the bottom.
This ship was so big, it had an
outside deck with a full sized
carousel, a donut shop, a Mexican
restaurant and a Johnny Rocket
hamburger place. A piano player
played at night in the center of
Central Park under the glass roof.
This is the view from the diving stage. We did the back
stage tour and they showed us how the platform raised and
lowered so the divers could dive into the water and then
right afterwards dancers were dancing where the water had
just been.
